Qigong

Qigong

Qigong is a complete exercise system of Chinese origin, which excels at connecting mind and body. Through natural postures and simple movements, the joints are soothed, the function of the internal organs is promoted, and the mind is refreshed. We will work in this course with diffent aspects of the rich qigong tradition, from standing still to the soft movements of the Eight Pieces of Brocade. The emphasis is not in the mindless repetition of complex exercises, but on the playful discovery of the subtleties of the system, and the realization of its deep therapeutic effects in mind and body. No experience needed.

Taichi

Taichi

Today millions of people practice taichi around the world, mostly due to its therapeutical benefits. There is much more to taichi though, a Chinese martial art, which uses yin-yang principles in order to overcome hardness with softness. Taichi is a so-called "internal style", which means that the main focus lies in the correct body posture and the quality of movement rather than the muscular use of force. To this end we will work with the 5 Section Taichi, a simplified version of the Yang style of taichi. No experience needed.
